SafeQuip
was started by Racers for Racers
and the original
concept continues to this day. |
|
In the late 80's Tom Efland, then a
SCCA F440 driver and car owner conceived of a company that could produce
safe and inexpensive driver suits. With the wear and tear exerted on
driving suits it was becoming exceedingly apparent to Tom that multi
hundreds of dollar suits for 2 weekends a month was becoming a burden to the
grassroots racer. |

After ten years of selling other manufactures products Tim Lee (the current owner of SafeQuip)
decided to branch out, design and manufacturer his own racing products. In 1996 Tim Lee purchased SafeQuip
and started designing and manufacturing quality racing products.
SAFEQUIP is your
Personal
Racing Safety Company. We are dedicated to the safety of the
driver. We are also dedicated to leaving the driver
with some cash left over to
be able to field an entry. The fastest car in the world is great, but if
you have not taken the proper safety precautions, you may not be enjoying it
long. On the flip side, if you have spent every dime, nickel and kopeck at
your disposal on safety, you won't have even the second fastest car on the
track. Racing should be fun, exciting, safe and cost effective. The
dilemma is making it all come together.

Our team at
SAFEQUIP is constantly striving to find safer,
yet, less expensive materials that not only conform to SFI specifications,
but that exceed them. We are also constantly coming up with new designs
and combinations that will make our safety product easier to use and more
comfortable to wear, but we will not skimp on the safety factors to accomplish
this. We have one unbreakable rule in our organization,
"If we won't
use it, wear it or attach it to our cars---We will not make it, sell it or
promote it". |
